Membership DISTRIBUTOR MEMBERSHIP A
FEDA distributor membership provides dealers with the resources they need to move their business forward in an increasingly demanding
and complex industry. Creating that edge begins with a contemporary education program through the FEDA Learn Institute website. Individuals can build essential skills and earn FEDA certifications by completing courses in key areas, including sales strategies, supply chain, finance, operations, product education, and technology. Distributor members can also be a part of one of the industry’s most ambitious technology initiatives: the FEDA DP+Q (Data Portal and Quoting) Project, which includes the FEDA Data Portal, a database of uniform product information that can be easily integrated into other business software. A FEDA membership includes exclusive access to the FEDA Data Portal, enabling dealers to obtain reliable product information that can be used to streamline operations and boost efficiency. This unique and important tool is expanding to align with new dealer-driven software options entering the market in 2025. Dealers are excited about the upcoming availability of this needed industry technology and the associated extensive growth and efficiency of FEDA’s product database.
Also, FEDA’s dealer members can create even more peer connections by serving on FEDA’s committees and councils, such as the Emerging Dealers Council, Future
of Distribution Council, Young Industry Leaders, and the Advocacy Council. These groups are a great way to not only gain a broader understanding of the distribution industry but help shape its future direction. Speaking of industry knowledge, participation in FEDA’s annual benchmarking survey offers distributor members data- driven insights that can be used to optimize business performance and identify areas for improvement. And lastly, business leaders know that there is more to success than excelling at what they do. Even the most efficient and innovative companies are subject to outside pressures, especially those stemming from government action — or inaction. Here too, FEDA is expanding its impact. Earlier this year, the association launched the FEDA Advocacy Center, a website that publishes critical legislative and regulatory information and tools to help distributor members become more involved in FEDA’s grassroots advocacy efforts. Dealers can learn about FEDA’s legislative and regulatory focus and track critical bills such as the Death Tax Repeal Act and the Main Street Tax Certainty Act or view the status of concerning proposals such as the Warehouse Worker Protection Act, which would place new, burdensome requirements on warehouse operators. Dealers can even quickly send letters authored by FEDA to their own elected officials, ensuring their interests are championed at the local and national levels.
