I know they are active within their own church and complete the following mission statement: “Equip women to glorify God through their service in the local church, their communities, and the world”. Here are just a few special projects/ministries from our Virginia Presbyte-  - der the direction of Generation 4 Hope (NC). This annual mission provides coats, hats, gloves, shoes, socks, and a small gift to school children in impov- erished areas. This year, they will be going to an elementary school in Kentucky. (picture on the right) Edgemont Presbyterian in Covington, VA, holds an annual Pecan/Nut Sale each fall. All proceeds are donated to many community organizations, including Camp Joy Virginia. Fairlea ARP in West Virginia holds a CristkindlMkt where they change their fellowship hall into a winter wonderland. The work involved to pro- duce the Cristkindlmkt provides an opportunity for the women of the church to fellowship, learn new skills, and be amazed at how a throw- away item can be made into a beautiful and giftable “work of art” with just a little imagination and a hot glue gun. The money is used to support community organizations that provide direct help/services in the Green- brier Valley. Wellspring Presbyterian in Daleville, VA, holds a very successful Cre-

ative Arts Camp each summer. Redeemer ARP Church in Blacksburg, VA - Women Connecting with Women (WCW) is their encouragement/ teaching ministry. Participants have prayer partners that pray together monthly, keep in touch with each other weekly, and meet quarterly for breakfast or a salad night. Old Providence ARP, Spottswood, VA - The oldest church in our Presbyterial, the ladies of OPC have been active since 1742. The ladies undertook the big project of producing a new church directory and will host our Fall Meet- ing/Mini Retreat on Saturday, November 1, 2025. I dare say, many of our women are like Rebekah and Abigail, offering hospitality, wisdom, and compassion to all those that step foot within the walls of the individual churches. No matter the size of our congregations, the women in our churches are the planners of many church activities. Whether it is teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, serving Bereavement Meals, hosting luncheons or dinners for their congregation, sending cards and mak- ing phone calls, visiting members in nursing homes, leading Bible Studies, taking care of young children or seeing the need for building upgrades, our women perform many activities and are the pillars of the church. Our smaller congregations include Ebenezer, Broad Creek, Timber Ridge, New Lebanon, Wildhurst, Johnson Creek, and Church of the Harvest. On the Presbyterial level, we host a Spring Retreat and a Fall Annual Meeting with a special guest speaker in November.
