ASSOCIATION HIGHLIGHTS AGC Announces New Hires and Promotions

ver the past few months, AGC of California has continued to grow and


strengthen its teams, with new hires and promotions to ensure members receive the support they need from the association. Here’s a look at some of the new (and familiar) faces at AGC of California.


Brendan Carter, Associate Vice President of Labor Relations


Brendan


Carter joined AGC of California in early November, leading up the association’s statewide labor relations efforts. Carter got his start in the industry as a laborer, working through the ranks and serving in various roles including estimator, project engineer and project manager. While working in the construction

industry, Carter earned his law degree from University of Massachusetts School of Law – Dartmouth. During law school, he served as the American Bar Association Law Student Division Liaison to the Forum on Construction Law.


Kim Hudson, Director of Industry Advancement


After a year supporting the associa-


tion’s Government Affairs team, Kim Hudson transitioned to lead and oversee AGC industry advancement programs designed to foster a highly trained, skilled, diverse and inclusive

workforce at AGC member companies and California’s construction industry at large. Hudson will be working towards identifying and providing critical industry training and education, which is a top priority for the association.


Renee Smith, Director of Events and Sponsorship


Kim Hudson Renee Smith recently joined AGC


with nearly 20 years of experience in the events and hospitality industry. Prior to coming to AGC, she worked as the director of meetings for the California News Publishers Association. She has a BA in English literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Further credentials extend to be a certified meeting professional (CMP) and certified in tradeshow management.
