centennial year in epic fashion on January 31, 2020, hosting a combined Installation of Officers and 2020 Awards gala that drew nearly 700 California construction industry leaders and their families to the historic Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Te event shined a
bright spotlight on the legacy AGC and its members have forged in California over the past century, creating the infrastructure and laying the foundation upon

which the state grew into the economic powerhouse that it is today. Blach Construction Chairman
Mike Blach, who was installed as AGC of California’s centennial year president, explained that the associa- tion’s widespread impact and influence is sure to carry over well into its second century as members continue to build California. “Construction impacts
every Californian, every day,” he commented. “We’re getting to the point now where people do realize how important the built environment and our infrastructure is, and I’m excited that there’s this awakening that going on in
our state and in our country about how vital it is and how we need to continue to reinvest.” Along with Blach, AGC of
California welcomed its entire slate of 2020 Officers during the January gala.
