NOVEMBER 2022
FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
resolution effective on the first Sunday, rather than on January 1st
A . After all, if you can make a commitment
to something through the busyness of the Advent and Christmas seasons, those new habits will be well established by the first of January.
Within NPM, we are bringing some new opportunities to our members beginning in the new liturgical year. I hope that these initiatives will become habits for your new year, too. Knowing that we must be stewards of our ministries, of our members, and of our environment, we have some exciting ways to better serve you and, in turn, our Church. Starting with this issue of Pastoral Music, members can “go paperless” and review each issue online, rather than receiving it in print, too.
We are proud to offer two new member benefits. First, NPM has partnered with the Church Music Institute in Dallas, Texas, which will now offer a heavily discounted membership ($43 instead of $75) to those who are already NPM members! Tis benefit is available to all membership levels.
Secondly, I am especially energized that we partnered to provide affinity discounts to our Standard and Premium members. Tis partnership means we can now offer benefits for discounted insurance, disability coverage, shipping, travel, office supplies, and more to qualifying members. We know that all our budgets are facing constraints due to inflation, and I am confident that these programs will help our members.
t the end of November, we celebrate our new liturgical year on the First Sunday of Advent. I have often considered making my New Year’s
I have stated that membership growth is our biggest challenge and the key metric for sustainability. To meet this challenge, we will soon have a new association management system (AMS) which will enable us to steward our relationships with members, friends, donors, and industry partners better than ever before. We initiated a trial membership program to invite those who are curious to learn about NPM. Prospective members can experience NPM for 30 days; please visit
npm.org to learn more. And, since we know that members are the best advocates for NPM, we initiated our “Member Get a Member” campaign. Check your email inbox for more information about how you can receive incentives when new members join NPM at your recommendation!
Friends, I’ve been told that I wear my heart on my sleeve. Under a generally cheery disposition, I feel the joys and the challenges of life; I am often the first one to laugh with you, cry with you, or sit with you when the Holy Spirit calls for discernment. As NPM plans for a successful future, know that I am right here with you, welcoming the new Church year, celebrating our victories, assessing our challenges, and above all, serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
