- less your streets are too narrow for parking, now is a good time to allow street parking. With colleges being closed, relatives being shut-in together, and people working from home, many will have more vehicles at their home than they have parking for. This is a simple, short-term, and kind resolution for your neighbors.
Many associations do not allow owners to park rec- reational vehicles in driveways, in front of homes, or in common area parking spots for long periods of time. It would be especially meaningful for first to be able to stay close to home and able to see their families while not risking their family member’s health. Boards are encouraged to consider allowing recreational vehicle parking until the pandemic has been resolved. It may not be pretty, but it certainly is reasonable.
Lastly, let there be light! Holiday decorations offer a wonderful ray of hope in these difficult times, and it seems that many just want to spread holiday cheer (or usher out the year with joy). Take a break from issuing violations for holiday decorations being in- stalled too early or being up for too long.
In the end, combining grace in governance doesn’t mean that Boards are setting new precedence or waiving the associations rights to enforce. It simply allows for reason- ableness in an environment that calls for all of us to be more open minded and a little more kind.
