Most Boards of Directors engage in annual Board trainings to talk about governance and to set goals, and typically to discuss Board dynamics; how to re- spectfully engage with other board members, home- owners, and business partners.
I recently started referring to this as “Grace in Gov- ernance”, and it seems particularly timely to visit this topic as Homeowner Leaders continue to meet new, unprecedented challenges that may last for the un- foreseeable future.
While board members have been bobbing and weav- ing to adjust to new businesses practices, higher delinquencies, changes in meetings and community projects, and how to manage- let alone create, a budget that simply cannot be predicted, there’s an in- creased level of homeowner engagement that seems to have risen like a tidal wave and requires perhaps, a new mindset. A higher level of grace, if you will.
