DEMOPARK in Eisenach

Te next important event in this series takes place every two years—the DEMOPARK in Eisenach at Kindel Airport. It is the largest open-air trade fair for gardening and landscaping in Europe. An important element of this trade fair is a well-kept lawn area of around 5,000 square metres (53,819.55 square feet) under the patronage of the German Lawn Society (DRG).

Tis time, however, large parts of the mowing were grown tall, as various devices were to show and demonstrate insect-friendly mowing. On the other areas, variety demonstrations, but also the mixtures of the RSM 2 utility turf, i.e., RSM 2.2. 1 and RSM 2.2. 2 for dry areas, the RSM 2.3 play lawn and the flowering utility lawn mixture with mowable herbs of the RSM 2.4 herb lawn (73 percent grasses and 17 percent herbs and legumes). Perhaps one of the most photographed objects of this year's edition of DEMOPARK.

visitors. During two guided tours over the area every day, the audience received information from experts about what was shown at various stations. For many visitors, the long- term demos with various wildflower mixtures were also very valuable, and it is not how many had imagined the succession/development of these areas.

I was able to welcome a total of eleven DRV members at the fair. I can't remember so many turf producers at DEMOPARK. I'm glad! By the way, Jacky van de Sluis, TPI member and host farm of the 2025 ETP Demo Days in Luxemburg, had also found his way to Eisenach.

One of the attractions of the 2025 fair was certainly the "Fauna-friendly mowing" with the associated practical demonstrations of various technology currently being offered.

It goes without saying that in addition to the German Lawn Society, the German Turf Producers Association (DRV) was also involved in the preparation of the demonstrations and activities on the lawn. Te DRV had its traditional booth in the grass tent.

Interesting novelties? Some innovative harrow solutions— such as those from Wiedenmann, Hege and others. For me, the assortment of the company Othmerding Landscape from Ascheberg in the Münsterland region was a discovery. Tere were some interesting and usable, practical hand- guided small machines here. For example, the hand-held grading planers for area preparation for lawn sowing or turf laying, a battery-powered hand roller, a manual aeration roller, as well as the complete solution as a lawn construction machine.

And, in addition, a five-part prefabricated turf demo area with standard lawn, utility turf with Poa supina utility turf with tall fescue, sports turf and a wildflower meadow as well as an extensive lawn with yarrow and white clover, all of which are offered as turf, attracted numerous visitors. Explanations of the mixtures, their special properties and advantages rounded off the trade fair experience for the

But somehow I didn't have much time to look around the huge area this year.

Tere was a premiere for that! As far as the weather is concerned, we had almost everything on the Kindel during
