‘TREVI’

‘HANOI’

Blue Ribbon Winners

‘BLUE VICTORY’ VERONICA Floral Chain Direct “Purple is a huge color for my customers, so this would just be a really nice added touch of purple,” Moore said. Hagstrom noted how the open purple buds at the bottom transitioned into lavender closed buds at the top, contributing to an ombre effect in color and texture. “Just absolutely gorgeous,” he said.

‘TREVI’ ORIENTAL HYBRID LILY Oregon Flowers The clean white of this Oriental hybrid lily called to Moore, who scored it high for its large flowers and described it as a classic. “It’s what I think of when I order white lilies,” she said. “It struck me as so pristine.” Alders admired the spacing between the blooms, of which there are plenty per stem.

‘VENDOME’

‘HANOI’ RANUNCULUS Rosaprima ‘Hanoi’ boasts large, hearty, light pink blooms thick with papery petals. Not only did the judges find it stunning but they were also impressed with the strong stems. “Sometimes when I get ranunculus they kind of just fold on themselves,” Moore said. “But I wouldn’t have to worry about that with these.” ‘Hanoi’s’ unique blush color is hard to find in other varieties, Alders said.

‘VENDOME’ ORIENTAL LILY Oregon Flowers A pink Oriental lily with gold spines, ‘Vendome’ is classified as “pollen free” because the anthers are dry. What caught the judges’ eye was the abundance of blooms per stem, which added to its vase life. “This one will just keep going on and on, which is great for customers — and great for me because I can get some length out of it,” said Alders. He has bought the lilies for a number of years for their beauty and longevity. “I’ve always been a big fan of the performance,” he said.
