Ward sees another opportunity for improvement. Eldon had a ten-  in games. This year, she wants the team to play with that intensity from the opening pitch.  and then getting back into the game in the last couple of innings,” Ward said. “I hope this year we start out strong and stay consistent through the game.” The change in Eldon softball has not gone unnoticed outside the dugout, either. Ward remembers playing in front of nearly empty bleachers during her freshman and sophomore seasons. Now, the   full, people had to start bringing their own chairs to have some- where to sit, and it was always loud because people were cheering. I hope that this year the crowd is just as big or even bigger than last year.”


That support has given the Lady Mustangs another reason to keep pushing forward. They know what they accomplished last season, but they also know it cannot be the end of the story.
