Two-Time Defending Champions Aiming for a St. Elizabeth

Most high school athletes never win conference or district championships. A very small percentage reach  multiple state championships is extremely rare. St. Elizabeth High School softball has won two state champion- ships in the past two years. If you add the girls basketball title this past season, some Lady Hornets have three state championships. 


“Winning back-to-back state championships meant so much to our school and community,” recalled senior Lucy Lucas. “Our com- munity has cheered us on every step, driving our motivation to reach our team's high expectations.”


“Sports represent such a big part of our town, so having the sup- port behind us means so much to the team,” added senior Vanessa  and it motivates us to keep working.” Winning is hard. Winning back-to-back is even harder. A three- peat almost never happens. A few mid-Missouri three-peats come   Helias baseball teams, and more recently, Sophie Cunningham's Rock Bridge girls basketball teams that won four straight.
