CAUGHT YOU BEING #ISIPROUD!
Kudos to ISI member rink Danbury Ice Arena for showing their ISI pride on their website homepage. Including your partner logos on your facility’s website not only promotes the respective programs/services in your rink but also gains you credibility for being affiliated with respected organizations.
If you did not receive
your ISI logo marketing materials from us, please contact ISI Managing Director
Liz Mangelsdorf at
Liz@skateisi.org.
Do you have a title to add to the list that you think others in the industry will enjoy? If so, please let us know. Contact Editor Eileen Viglione at
eileen@skateisi.org.
“We’re continuing to add more content, and it will be a great resource for facility operators and owners as well as industry partners like the ISI,” said Zamboni Brand Manager Paula Coony. “It’s a good way to know that what you are looking at is the most current information available, and it is particularly helpful for busy around-the-clock operations that might need access to information during a time when customer service is not at their desk.”
ZAMBONI ESTABLISHES ONLINE RESOURCE CENTER
Zamboni Co. has created an online resource center that includes all of their safety and operational manuals. You can access the site at
Zamboni.com/login and create your own account for free. Then, log in any time you want to access, watch and download content, including operating instructions for models going all the way back to the good, ol’ days as well as new content, such as performance tips videos, circle check lists and diagrams showing where safety labels should be applied on the machines.
BOOKSMART
It’s been proven that reading enhances your memory, expands your vocabulary, reduces stress and makes you smarter — than you already are, of course! Here are three good choices to get you started on exercising your mental muscles and improving your management and people skills:
• “Take Care of Your People: The Enlightened CEO’s Guide to Business Success” Paul Sarvardi, copyright 2019
Goodreads Rating: 4.75/5
In a Nutshell: The success of your business relies on the success of your people. Learn how to establish a strong human capital strategy the supports your company’s values and grows your business.
• “The Making of a Manager” Julie Zhou, copyright 2019
Goodreads Rating: 4.30/5
In a Nutshell: A Wall Street Journal bestseller, written by an author who became a manager at age 25. Great managers are made, not born. • How to tell a great manager from an average manager • When you should look past an awkward interview and hire someone anyway • How to build trust with your reports through not being a boss • Where to look when you lose faith and lack the answers.
• “The Coaching Habit: Say Less, Ask More & Change the Way You Lead Forever” Michael Bungay Stanier, copyright 2016
Goodreads Rating: 4/5
In a Nutshell: When you help your team to be more self-sufficient, you won’t need to intervene all the time and become a bottleneck. It also frees you up to refo- cus on what truly matters for you and your team. Coaching others pushes you and the people around you to step out of comfort zones to learn and grow.
