This article originally appeared in the June/July 1992 issue of the ISIA Newsletter. Its author, the late Ted Wilson, served on the ISI Board of Directors for 10 years and is credited with introducing the ISI system to Asia and the Middle East. He created the Skate Asia Competition in 1989 and founded ISIAsia in 2000. He was an Ice Capades performer and ice rink manager in the U.S., UAE, Hong Kong and China and was inducted into ISI’s Hall of Fame just prior to his death in 2013.
