Milestones, with Miles to Go


What’syourdenionofsuccess?  


HereatCAI,wedenesuccessusing variousmetricstogaugegrowthand progress.Forexample,asofthewring ofthiscolumninlateOctober, membershipisapproachingarecord numberforthePennsylvania& DelawareValleyChapter.Butthat’snot theonlymetrictheboardlooksatona regularbasis.Aendanceatchapter programswasalsoupthisyearacross mostprogramareas.OurSummer NetworkingPartybackinJulyhadover 150aendees,arecordnumber.Our rstannualPhiladelphiaAssociaon StaTrainingSymposiumsoldout,with 100aendeesbackinMarch.Our Poconosaendancehasbeenstrong everymonth.Itisfulllingforthe chapterstaandourvolunteer commieestoseesomanyofour membersinterestedinparcipangin


theprogramswehost.  


Speakingofvolunteers,manyofour volunteerchaptercommieeswerefull thisyear.Over100membersvolunteer onachaptercommiee.These volunteershelprecruitsponsorsand sellexhibitbooths.Theyselectprogram topicsandspeakers.Theyrecruitnew


membersandhelpspreadthewordabout CAIandourchapter.Theworkthese memberscontributeisinvaluableandthe chapterwouldnotenjoythesuccessthat wedowithouttheirinput,meand


talents.  


Inaddiontostrongaendanceand successfulprograms,wealsostartedour webinarseriesthisFall.Onlineeducaon isthewayofthefutureandweare pleasedtobeabletobringthisnew benetofmembershiptoyou.Lookfor


morewebinarsasweenterthenewyear.  


Legislavely,weaccomplishedoneofour mostsignicantlegislavevictoriesin OctoberwhenSenateBill1302was strippedofallprovisionsopposedbyour LAC.TheworkoftheLACiscricaltoour missionandthosewhovolunteeronthe LACdeserveourspecialthanksfortheir


involvementandeort.  


Fromabudgetstandpoint,thechapter metorexceededallofourrevenuetargets fortheyear.Thisisaverystrong testamenttothesupportofourmembers, especiallyourPremierPartnersandother businesspartnersandmanagement


companiesthatsupportthechapter.  


Thesemilestonesareimportantmarkersfor ourchapterthisyear.Andtheyserveasa basisforconnuedsuccessandgrowthas weendoneyearandlookforwardtothe startofanother.


Asmanyofyouknowfrompreviousissues ofthismagazine,thischapterwillcelebrate our40thanniversaryin2015.Wewillbe featuringarclesinthemagazineaswellas onourblog,sharingimportantmilestones fromyearspastandrecognizingthe accomplishmentsofthechapteroverthe courseofthelast40years.We’llendwitha grandcelebraononOctober8,2015atthe DownTownClubinPhiladelphia.Ifyouhave somethingfromthepastthatyouwould likeustohighlight,pleasecontactMichael Shaw,ourManagerforCommunicaons& Programs,viaemailat: mike@caipadelval.org.


Beassured,thechapterBoardofDirectors andstaisnotsingbackandallowingthe organizaontocoastonautopilot.This chapterisneverafraidtotrysomething new,tostopdoingsomethingthatmayno longerbeuseful,ortoimprovewhere necessary.Ourgoalistoprovideyouwith thebestvalueforyourmembershipandto takeadvantageofnewtechnologyandnew ideastoaccomplishthatgoal.


Iamveryproudoftheworkwehavedone thisyearandthankeachvolunteer,sta member,boardmember,andothersfor helpingushaveanothersuccessfulyear. We’veaccomplishedquiteafewmilestones thisyearandinyearspast,butwesllhave milestogo!
