AGC State Board Tackles Myriad Issues

During the State Board meeting , AGC of America


President Eddie Stewart of Caddell Construction addressed top priorities for AGC nationally. Stewart, who was President during AGC’s centennial year, highlighted his theme of

“Focused on the Future.” He noted that AGC’s top priority of developing the future workforce is “a national problem that has got to be solved at the local level.” He also touched on various other industrywide issues including steel tariffs, the need for long-term infrastructure funding, the impact of technology and the need to increase diversity in the construction industry.

Johnson reported on various aspects of the association’s programs and initia- tives in California. CEO Peter Tateishi led a discussion on proposed changes to AGC and its bylaws in order to make the association more dynamic and responsive as it focuses on its strategic pillars of shaping policy in California, improving industry relationships and developing the future workforce.
