Blach Construction Superintendent Recognized

Mike Harney, superintendent for

Blach Construction, was recognized for his safety efforts with the “Individual Safety Effort of a Superintendent” award from AGC of California. In recommending Harney for the award, Blach Construction President Dan

Rogers said, “Mike truly leads by example and continually goes above and beyond to meet – and often exceed – our rigorous safety measures. He is an outstanding superintendent whose individual safety efforts warrant recognition.” Harney recently wrapped up a two-year, highly complex project for the

Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Bechtel Family Center for Ocean Education and Leadership. Faced with several obstacles, including significant and varied regulatory requirements, an intricate design in a confined location and serious public safety concerns, he and his team safely completed the building to the highest technical standards and construction quality while keeping safety a top priority. “As a 30-year veteran in the construction industry, Mike is truly a pillar of

safety,” said Blach project executive Kevin McIntosh. “His number one goal is to ensure that his crew returns home in the same condition they arrived: safe and healthy.”
