AGCC 2017 Officers Elected Installation Dinner Slated for February 3, 2017 in Napa


T


he 2017 officers of the AGC of California were elected during the AGC of California State


Board meeting in October of 2016. Te officers will formally be installed on February 3, 2017 during a special dinner at the Silverado Resort & Spa, Napa, held in conjunction with the first division and state board meetings of the year. Mike Mencarini, Unger


Construction Co., Sacramento, will be installed as President of the association. Other officers to be installed for 2017 include: Senior Vice President Walt Johnson, K.G. Walters Construction Company, Inc.; Vice President Jerome Di Padova, Skanska; Treasurer Mike Blach, Blach Construction Company; and Immediate Past President Jaimie


Angus, Griffith Company. Tomas T. Holsman is Chief Executive Officer of AGC of California.


President Mike Mencarini Mike Mencarini began his career


in the construction industry with Harbison Mahoney Higgins, Inc. in 1987 after obtaining a bachelor of science degree in construction management from California State University Sacramento. He joined Unger Construction Co. in 2001 and moved up the ranks to his current position as President of the company. Mencarini has served on the


board of AGC of California’s Delta Sierra District since 2007. He chaired the Building Division and Awards Committee in 2012 and served as


Chair of the Construction Education Foundation in 2013 and 2014 among other roles in AGC. He has also been active with the City of Sacramento as a commissioner on the Development Oversight Commission, on the Northern California Carpenters Board of Trustees and with the philanthropic arm of Sutter Roseville Medical Center.


Senior Vice President Walt Johnson Walt Johnson obtained his bache-


lor’s in construction management with a minor in business admin- istration from Chico State. He has spent 27 years in public works construction. After a two-year stint with a Minneapolis-based contractor working in Oxnard he joined K.G. Walters Construction Company, Inc. in Santa Rosa and rose the ranks from office engineer to eventually become President and Chief Executive Officer. Te general engineering contractor specializes in the construction of water and wastewater treatment plants in California and Northern Nevada. Johnson has been active in AGC of


California for nearly a quarter century, including serving as past Chair of North Bay district, a state board member and national board member among other roles.
