Contractor Achievement Award
Denise Dutra Maloney, Te
Dutra Group, San Rafael, received AGC of California’s 2017 Contractor Achievement Award. Te award honors Maloney’s career and impact on the California construction industry spanning over 25 years. Maloney currently is Director of
Business Development for the Dutra Group, a fifth-generation family business whose name is synonymous with Bay Area dredging and marine construction, and is owner of DD-M Crane and Rigging. She has been actively involved as a leader not only within AGC of California but also with several other professional and business organizations. She has contributed thousands of volunteer hours supporting, mentoring and

Specialty Contractor Achievement Award
Dennis “Chip” Sterndahl,
Sterndahl Enterprises, Inc., Sun Valley, CA, received the 2017 Specialty Contractor Achievement Award, honoring a construction career that has spanned nearly half a century. Sterndahl began his career in
construction in 1970 during high school and soon became a foreman for the company responsible for thermoplastic and pavement marker installation on state highways over California. He designed and built an epoxy machine used in pavement, and went on to incorporate Sterndahl Enterprises, Inc. in 1982. He has long been active in AGC of California, serving as past chairman of the Specialty Contractors Council, a trustee of the Laborers Training Trust and Chair of a Collective Bargaining Committee for AGC employers among other roles.
Associate Achievement Award Eileen Diepenbrock, Diepenbrock
Elkin Gleason LLP, Sacramento, received the 2017 Associate Achievement Award. As a partner in her firm focused on
construction law, government contracts and business litigation, Diepen- brock is consistently recognized as a Northern California SuperLawyer by the American College of Construction Lawyers and named among the “Best of the Bar” by the Sacramento Business Journal. She has been active in AGC of California for nearly 25 years, serving as past Chair of the Legal Advisory Committee, on the Legislative Committee and a past director of the State Board. Diepenbrock represented AGC
of California in developing model prequalification documents adopted by the Department of Industrial Relations in 2000, and again worked with other members to developed updated model prequalification documents in 2015. Diepenbrock has been involved in numerous amicus briefs to the California Supreme Court and has provided extensive pro bono legal services to AGC and its members.
