Eugene Sherrill Hager, Jr. April 11, 1922 - December 22, 2020
WHEREAS, in the providence of God who has brought to a close the life of Eugene Sherrill Hager, Jr.; the oldest member of New Amity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, in Scotts, North Carolina. We commend him to the Lord, who knows best with our sincere prayers. The officers and members of the church express their sympathy to the family in the passing of Eugene.
WHEREAS, Eugene was an elder and reverent man who loved the Lord. He was retired from Farmers Cooperative Exchange [FCX], as a Dairy Equipment Manager, in Statesville, North Carolina. His second retirement was from Wal-Mart in Statesville; he was still working full time well in to his early nineties. As a faithful servant, worker and witness to the Lord, he brought joy to life in good times, comfort in difficult times and a servant at all times. “A servant of God and the Lord Jesus Christ,” James 1:1.
WHEREAS, BE IT RESOLVED, that we bow in humble submission to Him who never makes a mistake and remind the family to be encouraged by remembering: Blessed be his life, as modeled in; 2 Peter 1:5-7. For he greeted one and all with a smile and heartfelt handshakes of Christian love; his life was reflective of almost a century of wisdom memories shared to so many of us.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, to his family, we have known that we cannot fill the emptiness from his departure. We offer our sincere thanks for the life of our Christian friend, Eugene Sherrill Hager, Jr.; and for his shared love and friendships. A copy of this resolution be given to the Hager family and a copy to be placed in publication in The ARP magazine.
Humbly submitted, on September 1, in this year of our Lord 2021; by the officers and members of the New Amity Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 127, Scotts, North Carolina.
