Lower Long Cane ARPC 250th Anniversary

ower Long Cane Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church cele- brated 250 years (1771-2021) of ministry as an organized Presbyte- rian church on 19 September 2021. Her rich history is interwoven into the fabric of what makes the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church so wonderful. Among the churches represented were Cedar Springs, Ab- beville, Due West, Greenwood, Troy ARP churches as well as Lower Long Cane’s “daughter” church Glovers Chapel. Visitors from Georgia, Flor- ida, and Mississippi came to participate in the worship service and the fellowship gathering that followed. Reverend Eldredge Kelley provided a sermon about “Coming Home” based on Luke 15’s lost sons and loving father. Dr. Loyd Melton, New Testament professor at Erskine Theological Seminary and the stated sup- ply of Cedar Springs ARPC, assisted in the service. The 1780s Reverend Doctor Thomas Clark, the Father of the Associate Reformed Synod of the South, made an appearance, addressing why Presbyterianism developed has for today’s ARPC.

Tampa Chinese Organized
Tampa Chinese was organized as an Associate Reformed Presbyterian Con- gregation on August 29, 2021. Those participating in the service included Rev. Randall Anderson, Moderator of Florida Presbytery; Rev. John Jac Coad, pastor of Trinity ARP Church; Rev. Junjian Jeff Liu, mission devel- oper since 2006 and installed as pastor of Tampa Chinese; Rev. Chad Sadorf, Associate Pastor of Faith ARP Church; and Rev. Ray Cameron, pastor of First ARP Church in Lake Placid as well as Stated Clerk. The service included singing in Mandarin and English.
Elk Shoals ARP Church Honors Supply Ministers
The congregation of Elk Shoals Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Stony Point, NC recently recognized the retirement of their supply minis- ters with a catered dinner held at the church. The church was organized 1875.
