Katey’s Korner Giving Plate
Hello FALL! It’s a time of leaves falling, cooler nights and warmer food!
Challenge (From First ARP Gastonia)
Pray - Prayerfully consider your recip- ient – invite your family to help decide.
Prepare – Prepare or purchase a Christ- mas treat – cookies, candy, breads, muffins, cake, etc. and make sure your name is on the back of the plate (with Sharpie.)
Pass – Pass on the plate and goodies to the recipient with a note and ask them to sign the back of the plate before they pass it on in order to keep track of the journey.
contribute to the joy of others!

Alphabetical Guide For Christians From A-Z
G – Go no place that will ruin character. We are known by the friends that we keep and by the places we go. No better place to go than to attend church faithfully and it helps build our character by the instruction that we receive.
Bring-a-Friend Day
Pick a Sunday for everyone to in- vite a friend, relative, or acquain- tance to come and worship. If each member brings a friend, the size of the congregation will double.
Come and bring a friend!
H – Hate no one. Do good to everyone. Do good to those who despise you. Luke 6:27- 28, “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
I – Ignore no one. Practice hospitality. Be kind to one another. Don’t hold grudges. Forgive and forget. Visit the sick and be con- cerned about all.
Let talk warm food. Love those casseroles but we really need to be more cognizant of what goes in them – take squash casserole for instance.
Now why would I want to mess with Squash
Maybe because I don’t want to consume twice as much fat, sodium and calories!
Most recipes for squash casserole include canned soup, sour cream, massive amounts of cheese and lots of butter. Now while those items aren’t so bad in small amounts from time to time putting them into one big casserole is a perfect storm of calories, fat and sodium. And its only a side dish!
If we are looking for a healthier version here is a good recipe for squash casserole!
Per serving its 8 grams of fat, 602 mg of sodium, and 112 calories.
