The late President Ronald Reagan was so fond of ice cream, he declared July 15 NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY IN 1984. He urged America to celebrate the frozen treat with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.” As he wished, I will celebrate at my granddaughter’s birthday this month!

DAY TRIPPERS Dilly Dip


16 oz. sour cream 1 cup mayonnaise  1 heaping Tbsp. parsley (optional) 1 tsp. dill weed 1 tsp. seasoning salt Mix all together. Refrigerate (preferably over- night). Serve with crisp fresh veggies or po- tato chips.

The advantages of a day are numerous. You can be spontane-   within the Carolinas to explore for a day!  the city’s historic west end, which has plenty of scenery and  the ARP Center while in town.          with the world’s largest man made whitewater river. A family rafting experience is considered intermediate and suitable for children 8 years and older. Other activities are zip lines, paddle 
