IN MEMORIAM DR. LEWIS CAMPBELL GORE
Dr. Lewis Campbell Gore, 85 of Elizabethtown, Ky., passed away Friday, Jan- uary 6, 2023 at Helmwood Healthcare. Dr. Lewis “John” Gore was born on November 6th, 1937, on a farm in Taylor County, Ky. Dr. Gore graduated from Taylor County High School and then attended Campbellsville University, and University of Kentucky. He graduated from the Auburn University Veterinary Program in 1963 and established Elizabethtown Animal Hospital in 1967.
Dr. Gore served the Elizabethtown area for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. He then provided veterinary relief services until 2018. He was a member of several veterinary medical associations. He was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, enjoyed UK basketball, football, hunting and playing golf with his friends. He also loved spending time with family.
Dr. Gore was preceded in death by his parents, James N. and Mariam Gertrude Campbell Gore; one brother, Lenwood Gore and two sisters, Christine Gabehart and Corene Hender- son. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Jana Gore; one son, Dr. Jim Gore (Dr. Stacy) of Nashville, TN. Tree daugh- ters, Pam (Dan) Seats of Santa Fe, NM; Patty (Dr. Larry) Benz of Sarasota, FL and Cyndi (Jeff) Frodge of Maysville; 9 grand- children, Dr. Allison Seats, Ra- chel Seats, Camp Seats, Aaron Benz, Jonathan Benz, Lauren Barnett, Jordan Frodge, Elena Gore and Stephen Gore and three great grandchildren, Levi Benz, Johnny Benz and Elliot Barnett.
