PERENNIAL RYEGRASS

PERENNIAL RYEGRASS

PERENNIAL RYEGRASS

Frontier II Perennial Ryegrass (FRII) is the new 2024 introduction from Jonathan Green. Te original Frontier Perennial Ryegrass was released in 2007 and made a significant impact with both grass seed producers and sod growers. Frontier was the first perennial ryegrass that was both dark green enough to match up with the Black Beauty Tall Fescue and Blue Panther Kentucky Bluegrass and sufficiently slow growing, so it did not canopy the other grass varieties in the sod mixture. Frontier was and still is the only perennial ryegrass regularly used by sod growers to fill in thin grass stands to make the sod harvestable faster. Almost twenty years of research using the original Frontier as the key parent plant in turfgrass breeding has resulted in enough significant improvements to release Frontier II. Frontier II Perennial Ryegrass is ready to add to the legacy of the Frontier story with

sod farmers. Jonathan Green

Mach Two (DLFPS-236/3556) perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) has demonstrated superior turf quality with all types of management and in all regions. It has excellent gray leafspot (Pyricularia grisea) and brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani) resistance and also superior resistance to red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis) and stem and crown rust (Puccinia spp.). Mach Two impresses with its dark green color and early spring greenup. Its excellent density contributes to its superior traffic and wear tolerance at all locations tested and its low Poa annua invasion for long-term performance.

Gator Cinco (DLFPS-236/3548) perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) has shown superior turf quality under all management levels and in all regions in the 2016 NTEP trial. It has demonstrated excellent resistance to serious diseases like gray leaf spot (Pyricularia grisea), rust (Puccinia spp), and red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis). Te dark green color in all seasons contributes to its appeal. Te excellent density is part of the superior traffic and wear tolerance. For areas using effluent water or next to roadways, it demonstrates excellent salt tolerance.
