On Saturday evening, following our usual assembly of cars
across from the hotel, Little Italy welcomed us by reserving all of West Fir Street exclusively for Lamborghini parking. Little Italy is the San Diego meet’s capstone event, and this year’s turnout set a new record. We had over 100 participants and over 40 cars lining both sides of the street! As in past years, the Little Italy Association had promoted our appearance as the “Bulls of Sant’Agata” in the local media, resulting in hundreds (probably more like thousands) of locals checking out the parked cars. Te association had hired off-duty police officers to keep an eye on the cars and prevent the ubiquitous cell phone photographers from leaning—or, in some cases, sitting—on the cars for their photos. Te atmosphere on this clear, beautiful night was truly festive, complete with a live musical combo at the end of street. After we all had out fill of the Fir Street crowds, we walked over to India Street for our big dinner at the Trattoria Fantastica. We were seated in the beauti- ful open-air veranda out back, reserved especially for our group. Our traditional Italian family-style dinner included spinach salad, caprese, fried calamari, rigatoni, tortellini, and braciole (yum!). Several of the partici- pants had brought some fine wines to share from their cellars (no corkage is ever charged our group). About 30 minutes into our dinner, we opened the double magnum
