PUBLISHER’S LETTER
FELLOW T
LAMBORGHINI OWNER,
his year was, indeed, a special year for the Lamborghini community as we celebrated both the enduring legacy and the continu- ing influence of the brand. In 2016, we
welcomed the introduction of several new Automobili Lamborghini models—which is always exciting—but at the same time, we marked 50 years of the iconic Miura. We celebrated the milestone with several gath- erings around the globe, including the largest Miura gathering any city has ever witnessed. In this issue of La Vita Lamborghini, you’ll find
exclusive coverage of this amazing event. Te cover of this issue features a powerful photo: a Miura crossing the ramp at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Esteemed the world over as the premiere concours event, showing a car at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance remains a dream for all but a select few. A special thanks to the very talented automotive photographer Jamey Price for capturing this moment of Lamborghini history. Most recognize the creation of the Lamborghini Miura as the birth of the Supercar and consider it one of the most beautiful postwar cars ever created, making it the most sought-after classic Lamborghini. Coupling the history and appreciation for both the car and the event created a historic scene on that perfect August day. Tat day, all car enthusiasts joined those who already loved the Lamborghini brand in a chorus of appreciation for the 50th anniversary of the Miura. Te illustrious 2016 Monterey Car Week boasted a collection of 25 Miuras at Te Quail, 12 at Concorso Italiano, 3 at Auction, and 6 at Pebble Beach. In total, 34 different Miuras were in Monterey for the Car Week, several of which were shown at more than one event. Special thanks to Rico Macaraeg of Automobili Lamborghini for supporting and helping to organize each of the Miura gatherings. Monterey Car Week also brought the debut of the Miura edition Aventador and Centenario roadster at

Te Quail Motorsports Gathering; and then again dis- played the Miura edition Aventador at the Lamborghini Club America Gala. Te automotive world took notice of this impressive and noteworthy showing for Lamborghini. Tis issue also celebrates the ownership experience, the positive connections, and the influence of the Lam- borghini brand. Te Lamborghini brand has a power and influence that extends beyond the cars and their owners. A great example of this is the Lamborghini Festival, an event created by Alfonso Zaza and Jorge Verdejo, two Lamborghini owners who have taken their love for the brand and shared it with the larger public through an annual event. In addition to showcasing the Lamborghini brand, this altruistic festival reaches into
the lives of children struggling with illness. Alfonso and Jorge donate the yearly proceeds from the event to a worthy children’s charity, Bennett’s Bears, which has donated almost 10,000 Build-A-Bears to critically ill children. Te kindness of these two gentlemen has touched the hearts of all our club members. It is my honor to recognize their example for all of us. Let us consider how our love for Lamborghini can extend beyond ourselves and into the lives of others—that is a passion worth celebrating. Best regards, and welcome to the 35th issue of La Vita Lamborghini!
