REMEMBERING ANGELA BARTON
ABOVE: Angela Barton in her Countach in the early 1990s.
BORN IN SWITZERLAND in 1932, Angela moved to America in the late 1950s and worked for Pan American Airlines where she traveled the globe as a stewardess on the DC-7. In the 1960s, Angela began modeling and became a top fashion model locally for more than 20 years in print and runway; and was a favorite model of Holly- wood designers Edith Head and Helen Rose. Her last fashion show before retirement was in 1983 for “Dynasty” clothing designer Nolan Miller. Angela was active in charity work and a co-chairman for the Phoenix Heart Ball while she lived in Arizona. After settling in Los Angeles in the early 1980s and then buying her Countach 5000S new from a Los Angeles dealer in December of 1983, Angela Barton joined the Lamborghini Club America and instantly became friends with every person that shared her newfound passion for the brand. In the years that followed she proudly displayed her Countach at many events, often receiving recognition: first place in 1992 at the Santa Barbara Concours, third place in 1993 at Concorso Italiano, and second place in 1996 at Concorso Italiano. She also was featured in a 1990s Car & Driver

magazine video documentary on Supercars where she took the camera crew for a ride around Beverly Hills in her Countach. Angela and journalist Richard Gully were dear friends and companions for several years until his death in 2000, and she was frequently mentioned in his “Beverly Hills [213]” magazine column. Angela was an avid
snow skier and ice skater and skied all over the world. She was fluent in five languages, which made her a terrific conversationalist. Angela’s wit, wonderful sense of humor, and lust for life made her loved by everyone that she met. Sadly, Angela left us on November 26th 2016.
