 as important, especially in encouraging Rhett’s faith. “He told me, ‘Keep representing the Lord well,’” Rhett recalls. “It helped me re- member the whole reason I play sports, to represent Jesus.”

Growing up in the tiny community of High Point before moving to Russellville, Rhett found a new home where his faith and ath- letic goals could thrive. “Russellville has been such a blessing in my life, and I am so thankful God led me to this community,” he says. “I’ve been able to meet so many great people and build amazing relationships.” And he’s done it all while excelling in the classroom. A straight-A % of his class all four years, Rhett  he plans to study elementary education in college with hopes of


becoming a teacher and coach, using sports to inspire and guide the next generation, the way his coaches have inspired him. “Sports have taught me there’s more to life than the things of this world,” he says. “God has used sports to show me that nothing on this  As for the legacy he wants to leave behind? “I hope people remem- ber me as someone who always played as hard as they could and always gave 110%,” Rhett says. “I hope they remember me as a great teammate, a humble kid, and someone who always lived for Jesus.”
