She also looks up to her cousin, Mallorey Rogers, a high school athlete turned collegiate player. “Growing up, I always looked up to her,” Elise explains. “She’s a great role model, and I’ve ended up following in many of her footsteps.”

For Elise, being an athlete isn’t just about winning games or earning accolades. It’s about showing up for others, especially she focuses on playing for the teammate next to her. She’s also conscious of the example she’s setting for her younger sister, un- derclass teammates, and her cousin Alex Struemph, who shares her passion for softball. “I want to show them to enjoy the privi- lege it is to be an athlete and to never give up, even if you have a bad day,” she says. many life lessons and has given me many opportunities to prove my value to the team,” Elise says. “She continues to grow my love for the sport of softball.”
As Elise looks ahead to the future, her hard work is already pav- ing the way for what’s next. She plans to attend Lincoln University after graduation, where she’ll major in biology, work toward den- tal school, and continue her softball career at the collegiate level. She hopes to leave behind a positive legacy at Fatima: one of hard work, good sportsmanship, and dedication to both her team and her community.
