Day 4

Dr. Charles Barrett read John 14. “We have two helpers, one on Earth and one in Heaven. We are surrounded,” Barrett said. “Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world

cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you” (John 14:17). “Whatever your circumstances, He will be with you,” Barrett said.

“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you” (John 14:18). “This is another gift. A gift of communion with the triune God. He is giving us this in the storms of life. We are not alone,” Barrett closed. To continue the morning sessions, Barrett

read John 17. “Verses 1-5, Jesus is praying for Himself. Verses 6-19, Jesus is praying for his disciples. Verse 20, there is a shift and Jesus prays for us,” Barrett said.

“When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Fa- ther, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you” (John 17:1). Barrett continued, “At the moment of His

greatest need, Christ prayed. Prayer was his  prays for us as He sees us as a gift. He prays for protection, your joy, and to be kept from the evil one. He prays the people and church would be one. He also prays that people would be with Him.” Barrett closed saying, “Christ’s greatest

desire is that we will be with Him.” Following the afternoon activities of the Climbing Tower and Zipline, Dr. Derek Thomas closed out the conference by reading Romans 8:26-27.

“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weak-

ness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words” (Ro- mans 8:26).

“The Holy Spirit helps us in prayer. We don’t know what to pray for and we ac- knowledge that prayer is a problem. The Spirit helps us by carrying heavy burdens and intercedes and then interprets for us. We are never alone when we pray. Nothing can separate us from the Father,” Thomas said. Be sure to join the Family Bible Confer- ence in 2025 for a time of encouragement and a time of study in the Word.
