was my mother. Twenty-four hours earlier, I was standing behind a pulpit saying that it is wrong to worry. Now it was my turn at the plate, it was time to see if I would practice what I preached. Suddenly, this was more than a theological precept written in - ity... from a point in a sermon to a mother with a blocked colon. And, until the surgeon got in, no one knew what we were facing. Worry. It has been called the respectable or acceptable sin. Perhaps that’s because it’s human nature to worry about that which we can’t control. But, acceptable or not, it is still a sin because we fail to trust our heavenly Father. In my sermon the day before, I had offered three steps for dealing with worry. First, turned the matter over to the Lord by means of prayer. It’s so basic, so simple. It’s something every child of God knows. Of course, we should take our burdens
