ARPWM MONEY Where Does Money Come From? Where Is It Going?

“Where did ARPWM get the money that they use, and what was the money used for anyway,” Mrs.  Our local women’s ministry sends money to our Presbyte- rial and to the ARPWM treasury to fund 4 major causes and sev- eral other events and needs. When asked what the four causes were,

she listed The ARP Magazine, Family Bible Conference, Jubilee Birthday La- dies, and Retired Missionaries. Although Mrs. Smith had been a member of her church for several years, she did not know much about any of those causes so her friend elaborated. The ARP Magazine sends out issues six times every year with articles that help to keep you up to date on what is happening in the denomination, what is happening in Women’s Ministries, what is happening in each local church, upcoming events, and lots more. The ARPWM helps to supplement the magazine’s costs so that subscriptions stay as low as possible. The Family Bible Conference is held in late July at Bonclarken Confer- ence Center and has seminars and activities for all ages. There is a morning speaker and an evening speaker and one of them always follows the next year’s WM study book topic. Plus, the women host a Silver Tea on Wednes- 


There are currently two Jubilee Birthday Ladies (Rebekah Carson and Shelia Osborne) that the ARPWM helps to support. While there is a goal, ANY MONEY that is designated for the Jubilee Birthday Ladies is used for their support, even if it is more than our goal. Many churches host a Jubilee Birthday Party (and there are lots of ways to do that). The offering that is taken at these parties is sent to fund the Birthday Ladies. In December, a check and letter are sent to our retired missionaries (like a Christmas bonus) in appreciation of all of their years of service in the mis-  Besides our four major causes, there are expenses involved with our Annual Meeting, WM Synod events (Women’s Welcome, Oasis, Missionary and church  childcare for those women during these events), train- -  “Now I understand where the money goes, but where, besides my offering, does it come from?” Mrs. Smith asked.


The majority of money used comes from local and Presbyterial offerings and some donations. And an of- fering is usually taken up at Presbyterial annual meet- ings and our Annual Meeting in July.


“Well”, Mrs. Smith said, “Like the widow who gave two copper coins (which was all that she had), my of- fering and that of all ARPWM women can all come to- 
