s I am sitting down to write this, I am in the midst of deep earthly sorrow due to the home going of my pastor, my spiritual mentor, one of my best friends, my hero, my dad, Dr. Lawrence Young, who
As I was looking through sermon notes and other things that belonged to him, I stumbled upon something he had written; his quote said, “Love - ample to me of how important it is to “Share Jesus.” Below that was a well- known quote that he would always use, “Only one life twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” While we are here on this earth, let us keep what is really important at the forefront of our minds. Let us live in asks, “What is the chief end of man? Man’s chief end is to glorify God and and dying world. Whether we are in our homes, in the store, in our schools, at ballgames,
restaurants, etc… We can share Christ’s love everywhere we go. We are the only Bible some people might ever read. So let’s take our Kingdom Work teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” We are all missionaries, right where we are. Whether it be in a foreign

When my husband and I arrived at the hospital, my daughter told me she was a little worried since the baby was having trouble sucking due to such a fast delivery and she could not latch on to anything. struggling all day. Within twenty-four hours, baby Christian was losing weight due to not being able to eat, and there was talk about needing to put her in the NICU. On top of that, the hospital had made an appointment for a - sessment. That day, we stopped by for a short visit and when we got ready to leave my husband said, “Let’s have a word of prayer before we leave.” My son-in-law, my husband, and I gathered around the hospital bed where

my daughter and baby were, and my husband led us in prayer, and the nurse stood to the side observ- ing. I called my daughter a cou- ple of hours later after we arrived home. She was excited and told me that the baby had been able to drink two whole bottles. The nurse was so shocked that she went out to the hallway and told all of the other nurses that a miracle had happened because she “saw people praying in that room.”
The next day, we went back to the hospital, and the same nurse was there and asked my husband, “Weren’t you the one who brought to the sky, and said “Nah, not I, but God.” My son-in-law told us that every doctor who had come in all day would make comments about this being the “miracle room, where they were praying.” Needless to say, after their assessment, baby What a testimony of the greatness May we keep “First and Fore- most” in our minds, that we should take every opportunity to spotlight our Lord. Every move we make (or in this case, every prayer we say) should let people see Christ way, let your light shine before oth- ers, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” This is our mis- sion, and may we remember, “Only what’s done for Christ will last.”
