It’s a very nutritious choice. You might think you’ve never had it but if by chance you had a miso soup at a Chinese restaurant and there were tiny little white squares – those were tofu!

Ingredients: 1 pint fresh strawberries 1 pint fresh blueberries
cup granulated sugar 1 pint heavy whipping cream

Slice strawberries and combine in a bowl with blue and/or blackberries. Sprinkle berries with two teaspoons of sugar. Whip cream until soft peaks form and sweeten with remaining sug- ar. Serve berries in small cups with generous spoonfuls of fresh whipped cream.

Southern Strawberry Chiffon Pie: 1 (10 oz) package frozen strawberries, thawed
1 (3 oz) package strawberry gelatin 3
/4 /2 /4 1/8 cup boiling water
2 tablespoons lemon juice 1
2 egg whites 1
cup sugar 1 (9 inch) baked pastry shell
Drain strawberries; add enough water to make 2
/3 cup liquid. Dissolve gelatin in 3 /4 cup boiling
water; add lemon juice and strawberry liquid. Chill until partially set. Beat until soft peaks form; fold in strawberries and whipped cream. Add salt to egg whites; beat until soft peaks form. Add sugar gradually, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold egg white mixture into straw- berry mixture. Pour into pastry shell; chill until set. Garnish with whole strawberries and ad- ditional sweetened whipped cream, if desired. Serves 6 to 8.

Deacon’s Punch: 1 (6 oz) can frozen pink lemonade 3

1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice, chilled /2
1 (2 liter) bottle ginger ale, chilled 1

Mix lemonade, sugar and water; chill. When ready to serve, add pineapple juice, ginger ale and ice cream.
