Community Associations Institute – Washington State Chapter


Ila Dickenson, CMCA, is a manager with Trestle Community Management and has been in the community management industry for two years. She currently manages single-family homes from Marysville to Sammamish, and has managed condos throughout Seattle. Prior to working in association management, she worked in micro apartments and college dorms before that. She loves navigating the complicated physical and interpersonal challenges of community living.


Sean Hughes is the General Manager with RW Anderson Services and RW Handyman serving the greater Seattle area, Eastside and South Puget Sound. As a graduate of the University of Washington, Sean has spent time as a property manager as well as a general contractor. Now with RW, his focus is on helping Condo Owners and HOA Members navigate their maintenance goals through preventative planning, maintenance implementation, large and small construction projects, insurance restoration, as well as on-call maintenance services.


Karen McDonald, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, RS, is a Project Manager at Association  the community association industry where she now helps bridge the gap between associations and their reserve studies. Karen is the Immediate Past President for the WSCAI Chapter and serves on the Market Expansion Committee, Communications Committee, and as liaison to the Membership 


Jackie Roethel, is an Associate Partner with Evolution Architecture, and their Director of Marketing. She graduated from UW with a communications degree, and has been in the corporate marketing industry since 2010, with the last 6 years in the Real Estate market. An avid WSCAI member, and supporter, Jackie has been the Community Outreach Committee Co-Chair since 2015. Outside of 


Theresa Torgesen, Esq., partner and a founding member of Sound Legal Partners, PLLC is an experienced attorney who has dedicated more than a decade of her legal career to representing condominium and homeowner associations as general counsel. She supports association managers and board members in their community leadership roles, assists them in identifying and addressing potential risks, and collaborates with them to develop practical solutions when problems arise. Theresa is passionate about education and advocacy and is a frequent presenter of CAI seminars at the state and national level. Theresa served on the Washington Uniform Common Interest Ownership Act (WUCIOA) Drafting  legislature in 2015 and has served as the Co-Chair of the CAI Washington State Legislative Action Committee (LAC).


Caitlin Traub, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, shares her experience of using technology in the Community Association industry. Caitlin attended college at Temple University in Philadelphia where she studied Political Science. Shortly after college, she stumbled across Community Association Management and has found a  within the Dallas, Texas market, Caitlin relocated to Seattle and joined WPI Communities, AAMC, the Community Association Team at WPI Real Estate, as Vice President of Community Association Management. She has experience managing associations both large and small and understands the different challenges that each face. Caitlin is excited to be a part of WSCAI and is currently the Co-Chair of the CA Day Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring her new city and tackling the ski slopes of the Cascades.
