he importance of positive communication should never be underestimated. No matter what the subject matter, the way we communicate is often more important than the message itself. By practicing positive communication, we are leading by example for our communities.
People are undeniably passionate about their homes, the way they live, how their money is spent, and how they are treated by others. Often, that passion is expressed (or perceived) as anger and it prevents constructive discussion.
Taking time to focus on how we phrase our our messages are received by others and their reaction to us. Treating others with respect and consideration, particularly in response to negative communication, encourages them to mirror our behavior.
Positive communication will stimulate productive discussion, encourage participation and support from community
We will provide advice and examples about how you can implement positive communication in correspondence, governing documents, meetings, and everyday interactions, adopt procedures and guidelines to curtail negative and unproductive communication from others, and creating and adopting mission and vision statements that set the overall tone for our communities.
