Legislative Summit Draws Construction Leaders to State Capitol
D
ozens of construction industry leaders spent two days meeting with California’s top political leadership during AGC of
California’s 2023 Legislative Summit on May 2-3. Recently announced gubernatorial candidate, Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis, opened the summit before AGC of California members embarked on more than 30 meetings with key legislative offices. During the summit AGC of California members
advocated for legislation addressing California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) streamlining, project delivery, infrastructure funding and con- struction safety, among others. Contractors were able to strengthen relationships with officials that represent their regions, inviting them on job walks and office visits, and further educating a new gen- eration of legislators on the needs and complexities of California’s construction industry.
