CA. As a kid, he spent plenty of afternoons in the company’s local construction yard learning from “all the old school guys what construction was about,” he said. Butcher decided to follow that same


path and joined the Operating Engineers Local 3 after high school. He spent the next few years working hands-on per- forming various jobs, including dredging, pile driving, and work on land as both a crane oiler and an operator.
