AGC Members Attend Airport Open House Te AGC of California Highway and Transportation Division hosted the 2nd Annual Airport Open House on Tuesday, September 13. Tis event was attended by more than 120 AGC-CA members. It gave them

the opportunity to meet with key airport personnel from some of California’s largest airports such as LAX, San Diego, Oakland, San Jose, and Sacramento. AGC of California members were also able to see upcoming projects, five-year capital improvement programs, and understand delivery methods being used.

Asha Virlouvet

Virlouvet had been an eco- logical resto- ration project manager with Hanford for five years before moving into

her role as operations manager this year. Prior to working with Hanford, she spent six years as a restoration biologist and project manager for a non-profit partner of a public landowner. For her, the unique approach taken

by Project Engage has stood out. “Te attentive one-on-one and core group approach has been the biggest benefit. Many trainings are several days to a week of intensive trainings (or online at your own pace). Reinforcing the ideas that are presented to the larger group has been really helpful. Tis approach allows time to digest the information and a space to ask questions or seek clarification.” Asked what specific skills she has

already incorporated into her own work, Virlouvet noted, “Learning about where my own tendency pitfalls are and how to communicate those to others has been incredibly helpful for me. I have already been able to use these tools in both my personal and professional worlds.”

Pictured above, the AGC of California 2022 Legal Advisory Council (LAC) Retreat took place on September 16-18 at the Lodge at Torrey Pines in Southern California. The always well-attended gathering was a big draw this year with approximately four dozen members of the LAC and their guests in attendance to network and earn professional continuing education credits.
