INVESTING IN OUR INDUSTRY
AGC Emerging Leaders Program Champions Mentoring & Growth BY KENDRA BILO, DIRECTOR OF TRAINING & EDUCATION, AGC OF CALIFORNIA
I
n the final quarter of 2023, the AGC of California Emerging Leaders (EL) Program achieved remarkable
milestones. A standout moment was the mentoring panel at the Annual Construct Conference, which also served as a forum to launch the College2Construct Mentorship Program. The call for appli- cations received an enthusiastic response, drawing applicants from a diverse stu- dent body statewide. As we prepare for the program’s debut in early 2024, we look forward to sharing further exciting developments in our subsequent report. In October 2023, the EL Steering Committee gathered at the Construct Conference, laying the groundwork for the upcoming year. Plans include a range
of initiatives, such as Volunteer Month and student-engagement activities like resume-building workshops and mock interviews, aimed at fostering student con- nections and promoting their professional growth. A highlight of the season was
the Bay Area Region Holiday Topgolf Mixer & Toy Drive on December 7, 2023. Te sold-out event not only showcased the program’s expanding reach but also set a new standard in community involvement and philanthropy, with record-breaking donations. As 2023 drew to a close, the EL Pro- gram demonstrated significant advances
in mentoring, strategic planning for the new year, and hosting impactful commu- nity events. Tese endeavors affirm our dedication to cultivating future industry leaders and strengthening the community and charitable spirit among our members.
