Congratulations Hensel Phelps!

The construction journey of the 10th and O Street state office building began as a response to the need for alternative workspace for California state government employees during the renovation of the Capitol Annex. Tasked with designing and installing the plumbing systems for this 10-story edifice, JWM, a partner of Hensel Phelps for over three decades, teamed up for the occasion. With a focus on efficiency and surpassing California state standards for water and energy usage, we expertly crafted and implemented essential plumbing components, including sanitary waste disposal, storm drain systems, domestic water piping, and more.

Amidst the project’s complexities, ranging from logistical challenges in downtown Sacramento to navigating pandemic-related disruptions and supply chain issues, JWM remained steadfast. Led by Kelly Haverty, Design Lead and project manager, the team prioritized seamless coordination and teamwork among all trade partners, including Hensel Phelps. Despite the obstacles, the collective effort yielded an on-time delivery under budget, showcasing the power of collaboration and dedication.

The success of the 10th and O Street project not only deepened the bond between JWM and Hensel Phelps but also garnered prestigious accolades, including LEED Platinum, Zero Net Carbon, and Zero Net Energy certifications. These achievements underscored the building’s exceptional sustainability and efficiency, reinforcing JWM’s prowess in tackling formidable challenges. As a premier plumbing and piping design partner in the Sacramento, San Francisco, and Reno metro areas, JWM stands ready to embark on transformative projects with future collaborators.
