One of the most valuable resources we’re working on right now is the 2023 annual profi t survey. The survey collects 2022 fi nancial data from dealers to provide industry benchmarking to participating dealer members so they can analyze how their business performance compares to similar companies in the industry.

to improve innovation and business success for everyone. This has proven successful, as manufacturers and other industry partners now have a more prominent role at the FEDA Annual Conference, from participating in panels to sponsoring events like the FEDA Young Industry Leaders Reception. Manufacturers and business services companies also serve on a variety of FEDA committees and councils, now including two new initiatives: one for small dealers and the other to research issues that will impact the future of distribution.

Likewise, the input from manufacturer and associate members on projects like the FEDA Data Portal has been invaluable. Through their involvement in various committees and test groups, manufacturer members have helped shape the portal’s data governance standards and guide its development, ensuring that the database truly serves the entire industry. They have also been early supporters of the now expanding FEDA Video Marketing Center, which provides a library of product videos from manufacturers that dealers can use to quickly create marketing campaigns for customers or training materials for their sales teams.

For those members that are already heavily involved in FEDA initiatives,

and for those that are still looking for opportunities, we invite you to take advantage of our other member benefi ts. As a reminder, the weekly FEDA newsletter is an excellent way to share important news about your company or views on trends in the industry, and FEDA Young Industry Leaders is a great place for emerging and established young professionals to network and develop their industry knowledge. As someone who worked in fi ne

dining restaurants, I’ve witnessed the value dealers bring to operators through their product knowledge and access to inventory. I am so thrilled now to learn directly from our members about all the exciting and indispensable work they perform.

I could not have asked for a warmer welcome to the association and our members’ graciousness in helping me get up to speed speaks to the satisfaction they take in their work and their role in the industry. That FEDA is celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2023 is a testament to our members’ willingness to adapt and grow no matter what challenges materialize. Dealers once again fi nd themselves in a moment of change, but they can approach the future confi dent that FEDA is here to support them in any way possible.

Cool fact:

I have been playing ice hockey for 21 years and I studied abroad in Ireland for six months.

What draws you to art: I love the process of creating and experimenting with different art forms. Being a student of history, I am fascinated with how art has evolved throughout history and can be a lens to witness the story of humanity.

What are some things you are learning in your new role: I’m eager to fi nd new ways to involve members in the association and, considering how complex the dealer and distributor role is in the industry, how FEDA can best support their future.
