Whereas the Rev. Dr. Guy H. Smith, Jr. has honorably and faithfully served as the Stated Clerk and Administrator of Catawba Presbytery of the General Synod of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church for forty-two years,


And whereas he has done so to the glory of God and the good of Christ’s church,


And whereas he has given himself to the work heartily and as unto the Lord,


And whereas he has done so with great administrative skill and grace that has greatly facilitated the work of Catawba Presbytery,


And whereas he has given many hours traversing the length and breadth of Catawba Presbytery hundreds of times for stated and called meetings of Catawba Presbytery,


And whereas he has been an invaluable resource and counselor to all our moderators and chairmen of Presbytery committees and commissions,


And whereas he has been of help and resource to the


churches of Catawba Presbytery and to the General Synod on behalf of Presbytery,


Be it resolved that Catawba Presbytery of the Associate Re- formed Synod express its thanks to him by a standing ova- tion and that a copy of this resolution be presented to him and be included in a future edition of The ARP Magazine.
