For Dad’s Coupons: • “This coupon is for a free car wash.” • “This coupon is for a free yard clean-up.”
Your parents can pull out one coupon each day, and you must do what the coupon says!
• Decorate your coupons with markers and/or stickers. Make as many of them as you like! Place them in a box or an envelope before you give them to your mom or dad. What a sweet gift!
Extra Ideas: • You do not have to make only coupons.
Write Bible verses and sweet, encouraging mes- sages on some of your paper rectangles.
Perfect Pancakes
On special occasions, my siblings and I love to give our parents breakfast in bed! Surprise your mom or dad with a plate full of piping-hot pancakes. (You may need the help of a parent or an older sibling.)
Ingredients: • 1 tablespoon of sugar • 2 teaspoons of baking powder • ¼ teaspoon of salt • 1 beaten egg • 1 cup of milk • 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
Instructions: baking powder, and salt. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture. Set aside. • In another medium mixing bowl, combine the egg, milk, and cooking oil. Add egg mixture all at once to the dry mix- ture. Stir just till moistened (batter should be lumpy). • For standard-size pancakes, pour about ¼ cup of batter onto a hot, lightly greased griddle or heavy skillet. Leave enough space between pancakes for them to expand during cooking. Cook over medium heat about two minutes on each side or till pancakes are golden brown, turning to sec- ond sides when pancakes have bubbly surfaces and edges are slightly dry. Serve warm and topped with syrup! Makes eight to ten pancakes.
Extra Ideas: • Sprinkle a handful of chocolate chips or fresh blueberries onto your pancakes right after you pour them onto the griddle. • Serve your pancakes topped with fresh berries and a dollop of cool whip!
