SPOTLIGHT ON THE GOSPEL
By Alex Pettett, World Witness Executive Director
CHURCH-PLANTING UPDATE
World Witness continues the mission of growing the Reformed church among the unreached/ least-reached peoples through church planting and strengthening with like-minded partners. In the cycle of church growth are aspects such as exploratory works to determine viability of a church plant, evangelism, discipleship, and mentoring/training. Ultimately, it is our desire that these aspects establish lasting, multiplying churches where people may be saved by the work of the Holy Spirit through preaching the Word.
World Witness is humbled to be one of thousands of churches and organizations who are being the light of Christ amid war in Ukraine. As of March, we have been able to quickly mobilize funding for our missionaries rent a storage unit to create a supply line of relief aid to inner Ukraine, help the border, supply one meal a day to Ukrainian refugees in Toledo, Spain, and much more. All this is happening through national churches creating an even bigger spotlight on the Gospel!
and former WW missionary Scott Andes, all of whom are the most engaged in ministry efforts among the Ukrainian refugees. Though the Ukraine updates to share, including welcoming new missionary candidates who were approved for service at our Spring Board Meeting:

long-term in England working with our Reformed denominational Chelmsford, where Ben has been called as an associate minister. He is currently a pastoral assistant serving alongside Rev. Matt Joldersma at Neely’s Creek

evangelists, using their unique ministry of folk music. The Casons in Hendersonville, NC.
• Rebekah Carson is joining the Bridge Europe team in southern
Germany to assist the Thomas’ church-planting work. She will dearly miss Berlin but looks forward to serving alongside the Thomas and Allers families.
• and Missy Robelot transitioned to

• being a 2-year worker on the
Bridge Europe team to that of a career worker.

World Witness’ focus on the unreached/least-reached people (less than 2% evangelical) remains strong with the vast majority of our missionaries committed to church planting and strengthening among these groups. Who are these people? Typically, when one thinks of unreached people groups, one thinks of Bridge Europe’s engagement of Turkish Muslims living in Germany or Chechen and Saudi Arabian Muslims living in France. But this group also encompasses most European nationals such as those in Spain whom we are working.
Regarding church planting, in total there are 7 church plants (one is exploratory) occurring between Bridge Europe and our works, and 3 mentoring/training works. In addition, we have church strengthening and support works such as the hospital and schools’ Ministry’s discipling of pastors educating of pastors globally, and church to reach Muslims.
All in all, we see and know that the continue to pray He sends many new missionary church planters and church strengtheners to the harvest yet heard!
