A Prayer for the New Year

By Matt Kuiken

Lord of the passing seasons, our times are in Your hands. The year past has held many blessings, we are so grateful. The year past has held many trials, You have been faithful.

As we look ahead into 2020, this year is pregnant with potential, for faith, for service, for growth, for grace.

We do not know what this year will bring, but we have known You, Jesus, and are known by You. This is all we need.

We offer our plans to You, our fear to You, our families to You, our church to You. To whom else shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

Now direct every path, unite every heart, iIlumine every mind, strengthen every arm, that we might know and walk in Your will alone.

Put a song in our hearts, and the sword in our hands, that we might experience new heights, of love and service in You. This is the desire you have given, the desire you alone can grant. In Jesus’ name bless this coming year, and build Your church, for the sake of Jesus’ name. Amen.?
