Salute to Our Heroes R

ecently, Dreamhorse AZ got to participate in a pilot pro- gram for veterans returning home to a sometimes unfa- miliar place. Basecamp Inc.

https://www.bcampinc.com/ used our facility and horses along with Jeff Cook and Anne Winther’s expertise in equine assisted growth and learning.

Four deserving vets and their families spent a week at the beautiful White Stal- lion ranch in Tucson and their mornings working with the horses at our place.

Horses have a way of bringing out the truth in people and this time was no ex- ception. The guys got to express their joys, fears and frustrations with a horse and then process their experiences with each other along with Jeff and Anne. Tears were shed and joy expressed as these brave men became close friends.

Basecamp Inc. is the brainchild of Deb- orah Plum and Theo Windish, lifelong friends from New York.

The love these two have for our heroes is so evident in the hard work they put in to facilitate this wonderful program. Deborah’s husband, Adam filmed the project for an upcoming documentary.

The Tucson branch of the V.A. came out and observed for a day and were very impressed.

Lasting friendships were made and we hope that we made a difference in the lives of these four guys.

Jeff Cook and his wife Kelsey own Dream- horse AZ in Tucson, Az.
