best-loved artists, Morgan has charted 25 songs on Billboard and thrills massive crowds with signature hits including “Bon- fire,” Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “International Harvester,” “This Ole Boy,” Wake Up Loving You” and the four week #1, “That’s What I Love About Sunday.”
C Which 3 of your songs mean the most to you, and why?
I’ve got to be honest, I don’t know how people answer that question because for me generally speaking no one song is more important than any other. In fact it’s an accumulation of all of the songs on every re- cord that have established my career. But if I must, “Almost Home” for sure is one of the more important songs as it was the first big hit I had that I had written. “That’s What I Love About Sunday” would have to be on the list as it was the most played song of the year that year. And then I guess “Redneck Yacht Club” as it has become a staple summer anthem.
You and your family started The Gallery at Morgan Farms, a family-owned and operated farm-to-home business in your hometown of Dickson, TN. Would you share stories about some of the products that you make? How did you become a Bee Farmer? What do you enjoy the most about farming?
Let me say first I’m not really a farmer unless you consider growing stuff to feed deer and turkey and wild animals farming. As far as the store goes, the products I make are hand carved products such as bowls, spoons, charcuterie boards and other items, all made from re- claimed and repurposed wood. The idea is that every piece has a story. One piece in particular I consider to be extra special is a very large centerpiece bowl made from a tree that Grand Ole Opry member and Country Music Hall of Fame member Jim Ed Brown actually planted.
We started raising bees initially to help with the pollination process on our farm. In the process we harvested some of the honey. Ourselves and friends who had tasted it enjoyed it so much it turned into a bit of a business.
I would say the greatest thing about farming is the work. You get your hands dirty attempting to be a good steward of the property and the blessings that we’ve been given.
You’re a Veteran of the Army and Army Reserves, and a recipient of the 2006 USO Merit Award and in 2018 was awarded the Army’s Out- standing Civilian Service Medal. What does service mean to you? What advice to new soldiers/brown boots that are entering the service?
Service is sacrifice. The desire to put the needs of others above your own personal desires and needs. The advice I give to young soldiers these days is to be proud be proud of what you’re doing because the service and sacrifice you make for our Nation can be great. In fact it can be the ultimate sacrifice. But also to be grateful that we live in a nation where the opportunity to serve exists.
You’re a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2008! One of my favorite places to see and hear Coun- try Music. Is there a different feel on that stage as op- posed to another stage? How did you feel when you were inducted? Do you remember what songs you sang when you were inducted?

In my opinion, being a member of the Grand Ole Opry is the pinnacle of a country singer’s career. It is the mother church of country music. I of- ten say, aside from standing and performing in front of men and women serving, the stage of the Grand Ole Opry is the greatest place to sing.
John Conlee invited me to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry when we were filming a show at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. I was like a lit- tle school girl who had been poked with a needle. I was so excited and extremely humbled. And every time I step on that stage even today I get a bit of that same feeling.
You’re a family man, and Horse & Agriculture Maga- zine is a family oriented magazine. Would you share with our readers what family means to you?
In my life, family is second only to God. In fact, I would say they are one in the same as my family is part of God’s family. Everything else I do in my life revolves around that.
You’re the Headliner at The Big Sting, It’s A Country Thing 2019 Country Music Festival Weekend Cam- pout
https://www.thebigsting.com/#! Oct-12-14, 2019 at Watson Lake Park in Prescott, Arizona. A military, horse, agriculture area. What can the audience expect from your show?
At all our shows, all we want is for everyone to feel like it’s their turn to enjoy themselves and to feel like they got more than their money’s worth. They will hear most all the hits that we have had on the radio as well as new music that will be coming out on the new album.
