15. Ms. Hamelback acknowledged for her nomination and vote to serve as VMAE President for Fall 2023/2024. She has served as Treasurer for 2023. 16. Committee Reports. • Budget & Finance – Motion to propose a new contract for Ms. Hamelback by Dr. Redmon. Second by Dr. Cassone. Motion carries.
• Public Relations – Update from Power of Ten guests. • Membership Report – plan to reach out to lapsed members. • Committee for KDA working group – Dr. John Laster reviewed. Proposal to develop a pipeline into vet schools at a high school level. LMU discussion of mid-level providers. Continue to look for ways to make rural practice more attractive to graduates.
• Purchase/Ownership of Clinic committee – in progress by Dr. Williams. • AVMA Report by Drs. Vice and Shoulders – AVMA Convention coming up in July. practitioners will likely be a next big topic.
• Constituent Association Reports – - Southeast KY – group has met two consecutive months with good attendance - GLVA – two meetings planned - Jackson Purchase – meeting scheduled for June sponsored by Zoetis
- South Central – July meeting scheduled with topics of Bexacat and Parvo Monoclonal Antibody - BTVMA – annual Clinic Days Meeting scheduled for the first weekend of June. - RADAR – annual one health conference had good attendance. Discussed topic of natural disasters on Health.
