The American Academy of Forensic Sciences Promotes Cheryl F. Nelson, DVM to Status of Fellow
Dr. Cheryl F. Nelson was promoted to the status of Fellow in the General Sec- tion of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) by the Board of Directors on May 20, 2023. Tis was noted as a deserved recognition of her substantial contribution to the AAFS.
Te American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) is a multidisciplinary professional organization that provides leadership to advance science and its application to the legal system. Since 1948, it has served a distinguished and diverse membership. Te 6,600+ members represent all 50 United States and 71 other countries. Membership is comprised of pathologists, attorneys, dentists, toxicologists, anthropologists, document examiners, digital evidence experts, psychiatrists, engineers, physicists, chemists, criminalists, educators, research- ers, and others. Te AAFD objectives are to promote professionalism, integrity, competency, education, foster research, improve practice, and encourage collab- oration in the forensic sciences.
